Putting small river rock on exterior of shed/playhouse?
I am going to be moving and rebuilding our shed this spring, I am hoping to take all of these small river rocks, cover building in chicken wire after shirring it out a couple inches and then using mortar embed the rock to “side” it to look like a cottage. It is 9 foot high at the tallest and I planned on bumping out the foundation 3″ to make sure the rock was sitting on something. By river rock I mean the bagged small rocks people sometimes are idiots enough to pour all over the front yard and then when next owner hates them they have no where to get rid of them. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100659944&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=100659944&cm_mmc=shopping-_-google-_-D23X-_-100659944 this size of rocks I think.
Obviously I wanted to know whether or not it would work. That was my point.
It’s called exposed aggregate, and it would work. I prefer to use larger stones, however, since the finished product with smaller gravel ends up looking more like concrete than a stone wall.
